Many Malaysian professionals who became permanent resident and working in Australia eventually return to Malaysia. When asked why, many will mention the existence of a glass ceiling with promotion hard to come by. There is still prejudice against Asians.
Other reasons mentioned, food. In Malaysia, you can eat out at anytime, even at 3am in the morning. Eateries open 24 hours are not difficult to find in Malaysia, but not in Australia.
